Part I: How This Process Works

1. SNAP's Energy Assistance 2026 season is now OPEN.
   
   Visit us December 16 at 8 am for appointments in January and the third Tuesday of each month after that.
   
   All appointments are scheduled as either in person OR phone appointments.
   Phone appointments REQUIRE a working phone number and that a household member be available at the scheduled appointment time.
   
   IMPORTANT: Please call 509-456-7627 at least 48 hours prior to your appointment time to make any changes
   
   

   We also have emergency assistance for Avista customers, please call 509-456-7627 for a referral.
   
   Appointments are very limited. If you don't get an appointment this month, please try again next month.

Part II: Getting an appointment

1. You MUST reside in Spokane County and meet income guidelines.
   a. Not sure if you live in Spokane County? Check theSNAP Offices link above to find your zip code.
   b. Live outside Spokane County? Click the LIHEAP link above.
   
2. Household monthly income must be within the income guidelines. Use the Income Chart above to see if you qualify.
3. You will have 15 minutes to make your appointment AND you must provide:
   -Total number of people in the household
   -Your name
   -Address
   -Phone number
   
   Click Continue when finished to select a Phone Appointment or an Appointment location, date, and time from the calendar.
   

Part III: My Energy Discount

1. My Energy Discount-WA - Avista Customers Only
   a. May reduce your monthly payment
   
2. You may not need to schedule an appointment, unless you are in crisis.
3. Fixed Income, Income or Household size changes?
   a. If you are on a fixed income, or your income or household size has changed since your last appointment, contact SNAP. 509-456-7627(SNAP)
   This could change your monthly discount.
